It’s October and the perfect time to visit Maine. The trees
are turning those glorious colors . . . and there’s danger in the air! At least
in the fictional town of Hope Island!
Covert Past - Book Six of the Hope Island Securities Team series lands October
29th and there’s plenty of danger to be found on the peaceful island Hope Island
when former Mossad agent Ellie Jamison seeks shelter from a life on the run.
Ellie ends up finding more than solace and a home. She discovers
an adorable potbelly pig who wanders up to her place after being abandoned and pretty much adopts Ellie, and
a job she didn’t know she wanted as a barista. Hank, the owner of the Hopeful
Coffeehouse, (yes, Hank is a female), dishes out pearls of wisdom along with
coffee whether you want it or not.
On the surface, Hope Island appears tranquil despite the
storms that sometimes batter the coast. But don’t let the peacefulness fool
you. There’s been plenty of turmoil on Hope Island starting with the first
book, Forgotten Past, where we meet the Hope Island Securities team founders, JT
Wyatt, Declan Thomas, and Eli Warren. All are former military friends who started
Hope Island Securities to help those who are all out of hope.
I’ve loved creating these strong male heroes as well as the
women who love them. With each new installment, I feel like I get to visit old
friends and catch up with their lives.
The team has grown since Forgotten Past, joined by other
members like Janine Blackwell, Bryce Malone, and now Boone
Langston and Ellie Jamison.
You’ll get to meet each member of the team in Covert Past
along with some new characters, such as Ellie who will take her place around
the conference room table of Hope Island Securities very soon. Hank, the owner
of the Hopeful Coffeehouse, and a cute little potbelly pig named Dottie.
I hope you’ll fall in love with the newest members of the
team and the town and want to stop back by and visit them again when the next
Hope Island Securities Team book arrives.
Covert Past comes out October 29th.
Here’s a little about the book:
It takes a spy to know one. . .
As the newest member of the Hope Island Securities team,
Boone Langston knows a spy just by looking into their eyes. And Ellie's
reflects awful things . . . just like his. He’d spent most of his military
career as a Navy SEAL working for the CIA’s Special Operations Unit. And the
past three years trying to forget everything he’d done.
When he accidentally runs into Ellie in front of the
Hopeful Coffeehouse, the look in her eyes, the constant scanning of the foot
traffic in front of the shop, all seem to hint she is living the nightmare as
well . . . until Ellie's past catches up with her removing all doubt.
I’m giving away a copy of Covert Past to one person who
comments and tells me where would be your favorite place to visit in the fall?
I’ll announce the winner soon!

I love going to see the leaves change, generally south. I go to a scrapbook retreat in November to Spring Mill Bible Camp and the leaves are always pretty then. The east coast is very pretty at that time too.
ReplyDeleteI can imagine. One of my favorite times.
DeleteI would want to visit northern PA. Not only are the colors varied and beautiful there, but that is where my daughter and her family live. I love taking walks (short ones, of course) with my younger granddaughters as they point out the things they see and hear through their young eyes and ears. They never fail to amaze me with the small things they notice. And I love the name “Hope Island”! Our daughter’s name is “Hope” because we hoped for a girl, even though only boys ran in my husbands’ family. watts.vickie@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful miracle, Vickie. And I love seeing the world through those young eyes where even something as simple as a rock has beauty.

ReplyDeleteFew years back, we took an extended trip to the New England states in the fall. It was AMAZING! We went up the entire coastline of Maine before going to the interior of the state. Then we went to all the New England states ending our journey in New York at Letchworth State Park and lastly Niagara Falls where we took a helicopter tour. Now mind you, I have a fear of heights, but loved it. I was so busy taking photos, I actually remember nothing of the flight. The whole trip was so beauty in all the fall colors. I would love the opportunity to go back to some of our favorite places if not the whole 30 day trip. Fall is amazing in a color explosion for the eyes.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the fabulous chance to win a copy of COVERT PAST! On my TBR list and can't wait for the opportunity to read and review it.
