Happy Friday, readers,
As all of you know Thanksgiving is at the end of this month and even though 2024 has felt like a roller coaster ride with one wheel off the track, we have plenty of reasons to be grateful.
~ Although recently I had a major health crisis, I wouldn’t have to look too hard to find people in worse shape than me.
~ Although you might not be happy with the end result, the election is finally over and we don’t have to listen to malicious mud-slinging each time we pick up a newspaper or turn on the TV.
-Although thousands of people around the world are dying from disease, American researchers come up with new treatments all the time, plus we have the best health care in the world.~Although my husband and I will dine alone on Thanksgiving, without the family and friends we love so much, at least we’ll have each other and enough food to eat. Some people will be alone and some will go hungry.
~Although on Sunday we will attend a service on TV instead of in our beloved country church, at least we’re free in this county to worship wherever and however we wish.
So tomorrow morning before I start thinking about breakfast or what I plan to wear I’ll get down on my knees and give thanks for my many blessings: I am still alive. I have someone who loves me, a roof over my head, and enough food to eat. And I have a Savior, Jesus Christ, who loves me even more than my earthly father did. No matter what happens between now and the end of the year, God promises to never leave me or forsake me. And for that I’m eternally grateful.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! ~ Mary Ellis, Suspense Sisters

ReplyDeleteVery well said! Everytime I feel like life is unfair, I tell myself that someone has it worse than me or it could be worse.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I will very likely be alone on Thanksgiving too. 2024 has been stressful in many ways for my family. Thank you for your message as I have been struggling to stay focused on my blessings. I know God is in control and working for the best for us. Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post Thank you sharing
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post! For the first time since 2013, I'll be traveling to my sister's for Thanksgiving. :-)
ReplyDeleteGod bless you. Thank you for a beautiful post.
ReplyDeleteUplifting words!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing I hope you and your husband have a great thanksgiving I’m sorry your family won’t be able to spend it with you. I’m not sure what our plans are so far it’s just me, my husband, and kids. We usually go to my mother in-laws but she moved and got separated from her husband. So that puts a wrench in those plans. Life goes on. So we’re not sure but this will probably be the first thanksgiving that we have to make ourselves. Lol hopefully it’s decent. I’m not a cook but I’m going to try my hardest for my kids. Happy Thanksgiving! We have a lot to be thankful for.
ReplyDeleteI have been especially grateful lately for the gift of creativity!
ReplyDeleteAmen! Life does not always go exactly how we wish, but I have much to be grateful for.
