INTERVIEW WITH JODI ARTZBERGER

I’m a Christ follower who lives in beautiful Colorado with my wonderful husband, two awesome boys, and rescue pups. I write inspirational Christian romantic suspense stories that are Gospel centered and intertwined with God’s love and plan of redemption. Without the Gospel, we’re powerless!

I have a passion for the Word. I love to study the Bible, especially with my kids! I’m also a homeschool mom and love most minutes of it. When time allows, you can find me cooking and playing with my latest kitchen gadget. (But I hate ironing and I could really use a laundry fairy.)

I pray my writing inspires, makes you smile, and teaches you something about Christ and His love. Remember, if you can you read, you can learn anything!

God bless!
Soli Deo Gloria!

INTERVIEW

What inspired you to start writing?

I’ve always loved writing ever since grade school. And I’ve always loved reading! What’s better than getting lost in a good book for hours? A few years back, I decided to actively pursue writing again. And I’m so glad I did!

What was the first book you wrote? Did it get published?

My first book not only didn’t get published, it was never finished. I think about finishing it and I groan internally because of all the work it would need. A series I’m working on now is loosely based on it. So pieces of it might see the light of day.

Do you have a special place to write?

I write in my office, mostly. I have an incredible view of Pikes Peak. The only problem is that I get so involved in what I’m working on, I forget to look up and enjoy it.

Do you listen to music while you’re writing?

Usually. It helps me focus and block background noises. Teenagers are very noisy… And what I’m writing will determine what I’m listening to.

What’s your favorite part of the writing process?

Getting into the writing and cleaning up my manuscript before sending it off to my editor. It’s like working a puzzle and getting the pieces to fit.

Your least favorite?

My least favorite is starting the story. You learn quickly that an idea is a bad idea and needs to be scrapped. Once I get through the dumb stuff and see something taking shape, I’m good to go and I’m off and running!

What do you like to do when you’re not writing?

Trying to keep my teenagers alive. I’m also a big reader and love to binge read, but I rarely have time for that. I also love kitchen gadgets and playing around with those when I can.

Tell us about your newest release.

My latest release is the second book in my Otter Bay Series. Don’t Let Me Go is about Adam and Jenny, who we meet in book one. Jenny is still madly in love with her husband and high school sweetheart, but she is willing to walk away to give him a chance to have the life she can no longer give him. While she is coming to terms with a lifelong diagnosis, Jenny’s brother shows up and his arrival places everyone she loves in danger.

Adam is fighting to save his marriage to Jenny. But when everything in his life starts to crumble, he wonders if he should keep on fighting or let it all go.

When Jenny goes missing and her life is on line, Adam will do everything he can to save her, even working with the man responsible for her disappearance… her brother.

Where can readers buy your book?

Currently, my ebooks are available in Kindle Unlimited. By mid-October they will be available at all retailers. Paperbacks are available everywhere.

What’s next for you?

I’m working on a new series, but my skill of procrastination (and keeping those teens alive) keep getting in the way. However, I have started it and I love where it’s going!

Thank you so much for having me on your blog! I have really enjoyed it! You have a fabulous blog and I’m sure your readers are blessed by it!
