It’s getting cooler, actually cooler here in Texas, and it
feels so wonderful. Although I hope we don’t have the Snowpocalypse of last
year, cool weather is practically created for reading.
And one of my favorite things about reading is to dive into
a good book and know when I finish the last page, there’s more.
I have become a huge fan of series books because the story
continues with new characters and new adventures. I love that.
Today, I thought I’d talk about a few new series releases
that are out there right now in which you might be interested in starting with
Christy Barritt’s The Inn on Hanging Hill (The Beach House Mystery Series Book
2). Christy does series books well and she has quickly become one of my favorite
authors.
Here’s the blurb:
Lindsey Waters never wanted to return to the seaside inn
where she grew up. Too many traumatic memories haunt the place, both from her
childhood and from days gone by. But with guilt relentlessly chasing her after
a tragic choice, she’s desperate for a fresh start.
Mysterious incidents begin plaguing the inn—dangerous
incidents—that make it clear someone wants to scare Lindsey away. But why? Does
it have anything to do with the two weeks missing from her memory when she was
abducted at age twelve?
Childhood friend Benjamin Newsom seems like an answer to
prayer when he shows up to work as a handyman. But something is different about
him, something Lindsey can’t put her finger on. She’s certain Benjamin harbors
secrets.
As peril continues to close in, Lindsey must decide if she
wants to face her past or run. She doesn’t know whom she can trust, and
whatever choices she makes will determine if she lives or if she becomes part
of the inn’s tragic legacy.
My fellow Love Inspired Suspense author has created several
Indie series, including her new series, Chevalier Protection Specialists. Book two, Last Hour Till Sunrise, is out now.
The fight never stopped.
All DEA Special Agent Lucia DeSoto has is the job. Until a
routine operation goes wrong and she's captured by the target. The one person
who can save her is a man she swore she would never see again.
Andre Martinez is only good at being a soldier. When he
hears Lucia was betrayed, and the feds aren't mounting a rescue, he goes after
her personally. But it doesn't mean they're getting back together.
When a deadly enemy comes after them, Andre and Lucia must
combine forces. The team of Chevalier Protection Services bands together to
protect their own, but will it be enough to stop a deadly attack?
Cut off and pushed to their limits will they outlive the
Last Hour Till Sunrise?
Lynn Shannon’s Texas Ranger Heroes Series has been a big
success for her. Her latest in the series is Ranger Honor and is book five.
Secrets never stay buried...
When Sheriff Claire Wilson is attacked, she calls Texas
Ranger Gavin Sterling for help with the investigation. The handsome lawman is
smart and kind, but Claire is determined to ignore the sparks between them.
Divorce shredded her heart and left her jaded when it comes to love. She pours
everything she has into raising her small son and protecting her hometown.
Gavin is impressed with Claire’s tenacity, and her beauty is
undeniable. Still, friendship is all he can offer. As the newest member of the
ranger team, he has no interest in complicating his career with a romance.
Especially since Claire’s life may depend on his ability to catch the killer.
Pursuing justice pits Gavin and Claire against a murderer
determined to keep his secrets hidden. When Claire is attacked a second time,
Gavin vows to protect her and her son. But capturing this killer may cost them
everything.
Susan Sleeman is the queen of Christian romantic suspense
and her series, Nighthawk Security is a huge success. Night Prey is book six in the series.
She lived for upholding the law…
Defense attorney, Malone Rice, doesn’t want to go to her
fifteen year class reunion. Attending means running into her former high school
flame, now Portland police detective, Ian Blair. But when the committee decides
to honor her for her pro-bono work with homeless teens, she knows it would be
churlish not to attend. She will have to go and make the best of it.
But now the law won’t save her.
As expected, Ian attends the reunion, but what Malone
doesn’t expect—could never expect—is that Ian would find her standing over
their classmate’s dead body. Or that she would still have feelings for the once
bad-boy of their high school. Ian’s struggling too, between arresting Malone
for murder and his age-old attraction to her. He walks a tightrope, until
evidence surfaces that the real killer’s still out there, and Malone becomes
his prey. Can Ian overcome his feelings to focus and uncover the truth before
the killer strikes again and Malone ends up dead?

I have a couple favorite series!!!! I love Colleen Coble’s Rock Harbor Series, Dee Henderson’s O’Malley Series, Stacy Hawkins Adams’s Spirit and Soul Series, Lisa Tawn Bergren’s Northern Lights Trilogy, and Lynn Austin’s Refiner’s Fire Series.
