It's August at last, and am I ever looking forward to autumn! Not just for cooler weather, but for the September 10th release of my third book in the Northern Pines series, ONE MORE KISS.
Humor, romance...and a mystery! CLICK HERE to order or find more information.
Here's a quick preview:
In One More Kiss, a disillusioned lawyer searching for a quiet life in a small town inadvertently ends up sharing his elderly aunt’s vacant house with a woman who has secrets to hide from her troubled past, a young daughter, and a menagerie of epic proportions. But there's also danger lurking in this small town...
I loved writing this book. It was just so much fun, because I love romance and mystery or suspense, seasoned with humor. And as many who follow my blog might know--I've been an animal lover all my life and there aren't many types of pets I haven't had at one time or another.
And when the kids were growing up, oh my! Cockatiels, bunnies, gerbils, hamsters, guinea pigs, tarantulas, fish, and all manner of lizards and pet snakes were added to the mix.
Now we have just the more standard variety (two golden retrievers, eight very friendly, lazy barn cats that follow me everywhere, three horses, and a peacock who occasionally stops in for extended stays. 😀
Do you have any pets at your house? Or when you were growing up? Leave a comment and be entered in a drawing for a $10.00 Amazon gift card or an e-copy of ONE MORE WISH (two winners)
Best wishes to you all for a wonderful end to your summer!
Roxanne
This book sounds interesting!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Joy!
DeleteWe currently have one dog, Cooper, at our house that we've had since he was just a few weeks old. Cooper is a rescue and is a blonde lab/huskey mix. He tuned 5 in June!
ReplyDeleteI love his name, and that mix sounds wonderful. All of our non-horse animals were rescues, too--except for the surprise puppy my dh got me for Mother's Day.
DeleteRescues are the best!! :)
I love dogs! I have a tiny chihuahua, Poppy. She rules the house and virtually her daddy and me.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet name. I've heard the Chihuahas have no idea how small they are, and that they have big personalities!
DeleteOur present pet is Snickerdoodle who owns everything and allows us to use what we need. He's a chihuahua who will turn 17 in November. He has arthritis, takes insulin twice a day, and is almost blind and very hard of hearing, but he is the apple of our eye. Our world revolves around this little bundle of love. We even plan our vacations where he is allowed to go and then decide if we care to go there too.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was growing up we had a wide array of pets from parakeets, turtles (who I can remember feeding hamburger meat under water) all sort of lizards (including the chameleon that I bought at a rodeo that had a collar and leash that you attached to your clothing) and dogs.
Thank you for the wonderful opportunity to win a fabulous prize. Shared and hoping to be one of the fortunate ones selected.
May your Friday slide you into a great weekend!

What a sweet story about Snickerdoodle! Sounds like he has the best people he ever could have hoped for.
DeleteA lizard on a leash--that's a new one! But they are so fast that it sees like a very good idea! :)
I've always a variety of pets. I once had a black Lab for 15 years and a rescue cat for 13 years.

You must have been wonderful owner for them to have both lived so long. Our son's crotchety black lab Abby is around twelve, and I would love it if she had many, many years ahead.
DeleteWe don't have any pets right now but have in the past. Well I guess we do own half of a dog, lol, when our daughter moved she took Mr. Peepers since he was used to being around her dogs and we were moving into an apartment at the same time so we miss him but do get to see him sometime.
ReplyDeleteWe had gotten a cat about 1 1/2 years ago for my husband as he loved pets and we couldn't have a dog any longer, he could not take him out and now I can't either. But the cat was not a lap cat and liked to give love bites. Well, he started getting a little more aggressive and when he jumped and bit my arm and I got an infection for which I ended up getting 3 shots in the butt and an oral antibiotic, we had to take him back to the Friends of the Animals where we got him.

DeleteLoved hearing about your animals! We only have a very talkative cat but our granddaughter is an honorary co-owner of a horse and donkey next door, plus their goats and chickens. It's the best way to own animals! My email is cpicha@earthlink.net
ReplyDeleteGood Morning, wow,it sounds like you have had alot of pets. My husband and I have had our share of pets also. We have had 2 green winged Macaws, lots of parakeets, canaries, red finch, zebra finches , gold fish, dogs, turtles, Koi, now we only have 1 dog whose name is Honeybear, he is 8 yrs old and he is a sweet boy. We used to have more pets when our 2 now grown children with kiddos and pets of their own were younger. When I was growing up, we always had a dog or 2, we did use to have a horse and a pig, chickens, pigeons and rabbits. I think a happy home isn't a home without a pet. Your book sounds like a great read and I love your book cover! Have a Great weekend and stay safe. aliciabhaney(at)sbcglobal(dot)net
