Review- A Cry in the Dark by Jessica R. Patch

I’d heard so many wonderful things about Jessica Patch’s writing for a while, so I finally jumped into the pool with A Cry in the Dark. The beginning of the story gave me some serious Psycho vibes, and by the time I finished the first quarter of the book, I thought I had the whole mystery figured out.

How wrong I was…

This story had so many unexpected twists in store for me that by the time I reached the end, my jaw was in my lap.

I love the complexity of the villain’s motivation for his crimes, and that he wasn’t a one-dimensional bad guy. He believed the Bible justified his atrocities which added an additional layer of intrigue.

The main characters both had deep internal struggles they worked on throughout the book, and the main character had an ending that deviated from the normal neat and clean resolution I’ve seen so much.

But what she came away with--other than a super-great guy--was the truth that even though not all of our questions get answers, we can't live in fear of the unknown.

If you haven’t read A Cry in the Dark by Jessica Patch yet, I highly recommend it. It’ll keep you on the edge of your seat and leave you wanting more. You can purchase it here in several formats.

To be entered into a drawing for an ebook copy, let me know in the comments how cold it got in your part of the world over the weekend.

  10. I just finished Jessica's Love Inspired PNK-9 book, "Cold Case Revenge." It was so good, and that ending was so unexpected, too! I haven't read this one yet, but it's definitely on my TBR pile!

It wasn't too cold here in the Mojave Desert. Lows in the 30°s; Highs in the 50°s.
