I love it when the “ber” months roll around each year
because that means the holiday season is getting closer. Soon, the air will
have that briskness about it, the leaves will change colors and fall, and the
stores will bring out the Christmas decorations. Yay!
Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. I love
that special feeling that comes only at Christmastime. There’s hope for peace
on earth if only for a season. Bittersweet memories come to mind as we remember
holidays past and the family who are no longer with us. The sights and scents
of season that fill our houses. The beautiful holiday music. . .and the joy we
feel as we celebrate the birth of the Savior of the World.
And what better way to get into the Christmas spirit than by
watching Hallmark Christmas Movies for weeks on end, and of course reading some
of the amazing Christmas novels that are released each year.
As an author, I love writing Christmas novels. There’s
something special about setting a story at Christmastime and having the hero
and heroine experience this special time of the year together, and of course
fall in love, no matter what circumstance they might be facing. And it allows
me to write about those holiday traditions I love so much. Whether it’s
attending a Christmas Eve candlelight service, selecting the perfect Christmas
tree to bring home and decorate. Baking cookies and having the house fill with
those tantalizing scents.
And for someone who lives in Texas where there’s rarely any
snow, I get to have a white Christmas in my story.

ReplyDeleteWe're all excited about it, Patty.
DeleteI do both, but mainly readingπ
ReplyDeleteSame.
DeleteI’ll always pick a book over a movie any day. I also live in an all male, household, so Hallmarks movies aren’t a fave. This collection sounds awesome, I’ll be pre-ordering!
ReplyDeletePerrianne Askew

Oh, I can imagine Perrianne. You might get overruled on those Hallmark movies. Thank you for preordering the collection!
DeleteWhile movies are nice, there is nothing like holding a book in my hand as I sit in my favorite place - relaxed and drink of choice close by - reading. The mind is an amazing thing and the way a book opens it up to visually see what the author describes and to feel the emotions and actions through words is totally amazing. Really there is no comparison between books and movies. No matter how hard they try when they make a book into a move, there is always something special missing. Now mind you, I can very much enjoy watching a good Christian movie, but I'll take a book over it any time.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the wonderful chance to win a $20.00 Amazon Gift Card, which I most definitely could put to good use!

ReplyDeleteHa! I've always wanted to experience a white Christmas, Lori. One day. . .

ReplyDeleteCuling up with a Christmas book.
ReplyDeleteMy email is robinsontara801@gmail.com I like curling up with a Christmas book.
ReplyDeleteI prefer watching a holiday movie. I hate to admit that on a book lovers website. However, I've watched my favorite movies so many times, and the newer movies don't appeal to me, so I'm starting to read more. LPoser1 at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteWhoa! A heap of comments. Good! Well as far as choosing between a book and a movie, it's hard and it depends on how I'm feeling, etc. A book requires more mental clarity (even if it is a rollicking fun story) and a movie is more reposing entertainment. So for relaxing when I have the mental clarity to immerse myself in a book, it's a book hands-down. But for just simple entertainment, a movie is a grand choice.
