Wishing you all a happy Wednesday! 💕
But I won't be seeing any of that snow today. I'll be working like mad to finish proofing a new book, because I need to leave for a short trip as soon as I hit "Send." The pressure is on...as well as the anxiety.
This book has been professionally edited...twice. This week, I have been going through it using two editing programs, one after the other, to catch any small typos all of us might have missed.
At this point, I always yearn for the "day after" when I can breathe a sigh of relief and then catch up on everything else.
My husband is patient, though he frequently asks why I work such long hours when I should be having fun. My answer is always the same--this is what I love, until a deadline looms.
At least until retirement, most of us have many commitments that take up our time, whether it's our own education, a career, raising a family, caring for a loved one, or volunteering for a church or community. Sometimes, many of those hit all at once.
What do you love to do? What makes you the happiest? Are you able to find quiet times for yourself? I would love to hear about it!

I can only imagine the stress you endure with upcoming deadlines. I hope you have the chance to enjoy your upcoming trip. I've missed a couple of days of work due to illness, but hoping to be back to work tomorrow. I love to read, watch movies, spend time with friends/family, and enter contests in my spare time.
ReplyDeleteI am so looking forward to reading this. Roxanne Rustand is one of my favorite authors.
ReplyDeleteReading makes me happy and has all my life. Time with family which I get very little of Jane Squires jr's0350 at outlook dot com
ReplyDeleteI’m retired and get a lot of joy from reading and reviewing good Christian books. I also enjoy spending time with grandchildren. Four graduates this year. Three from college and one from high school. I’m so blessed! watts.vickie@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday!

I'm like you--I love writing until the deadline looms. And I love this series. Great books!
ReplyDeleteLove reading and spending time with my dog. He just makes everything better. I try and get multiple times to myself a day, doesn't always happen.
ReplyDeleteI always find some quiet time at the end of the day.
ReplyDeleteReading is a lifelong hobby and I frequently carry a book just in case there's a few minutes to spend. Here in the Midwest, we get Lake Effect Snow and other severe weather as the winds go over Lake Erie. The weatherman cautions wait 5 minutes and the weather changes. Sometimes we have all 4 seasons in a day and wear layers to be prepared.
ReplyDeleteThis looks intriguing! Thanx for the giveaw@y!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a book that I would enjoy reading.
ReplyDeleteThis boxed set looks great! What do I love? Reading, of course, but I'm also looking forward to better weather and a chance to be outdoors!
ReplyDeleteWhen not busy with things in life that take first priority, and reading aside, I love photography. Nothing is more enjoyable and relaxing to me than watching critters in their natural environment and trying to capture their beauty and antics. Sometimes it means getting in the car and going to them, but a lot of the time is spent on our front porch. We are blessed with many daily critter visitors from bobcat to squirrels and a wide array of birds, some that stay year round and others that migrate in for a short spell.
ReplyDeleteNot entered the contest because I can't read ebooks. DANGEROUS STORM is on my TBR list and I can't wait for the opportunity to read and review it.

I love to read but haven't had much time lately
ReplyDeleteI love fishing and do when I can looks like a great set
ReplyDeleteThere’s never enough time for reading is there?
ReplyDeleteReading is a relaxing passion of mine. I generally read about 130 books a year and write reviews and post them for every single book. When life gets chaotic, stressful and worrisome as it sometimes does for all of us, I take a step back, open a book, and I’m immediately transported to another time and place that includes peace and tranquillity.
ReplyDeleteHi, yes, I have plenty of time to do what I like to do. Both my husband and I are retired. I love gardening and doing crafts so I do that. We also go on walk with our pup. (not entering this ebook giveaway but Thank you. I am not tech savvy at all. ) Your book sounds like a great read. Maybe you will have it in print someday? Have a Great weekend. ReplyDeleteAfter almost 20 years of waiting, God gave us our daughter via adoption in 2020. My husband "retired" me from working outside the home in September 2022. So now I get to be a stay-at-home wife and mom. Spending time with my daughter is my favorite! (My husband, too, but you know, SOMEONE has to work to support us! 😁 We have swim lessons, gymnastics, art, and dance classes at the gym, and walking/park playdates with friends on Wednesdays and Thursdays. We keep busy!
ReplyDeleteI get my quiet time when my daughter is napping or sleeping and at night while my husband watches TV. Too frequently, I stay up until WAY too late... (or is it early?) reading books!

I have seasonal favorites. In the fall I enjoy prepping for craft shows and setting up at them. In the winter I enjoy watching YouTube and creating new crafts for the upcoming craft shows. In the spring I am prepping pots and raised beds for planting. I love transplanting my perennials also. In the summer I enjoy relaxing on our pontoon at the lake watching my family fish. I take a book along, too. Summer is the best time for reading!!! Thank you for the chance to win!

Since I retired, I pretty much do what I want when I want. I spend too much time on emails and Facebook, but I love knowing what my favorite authors are up to and which book is coming next. I l9ve spending time with my grands as well as crafting. I also have an old horse and a new dog to care for.
ReplyDeleteSometimes we forget the other side of being a writer and what it all entails to get a book published. As for me, I'm retired, so I plan my days as to how I feel. I enjoy cooking, being close to my grandson, and reading. My quiet time is early morning. ceedee1958@gmail.com
ReplyDeletethank you
ReplyDeleteI have a busy life, but it is balanced. I am homeschooling my youngest two children (12 & 16) and helping with my grandson.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you - I don't want to be lazy, I want to be useful.
ReplyDeleteTaking the time to relax and read always makes me happiest, it's my escape; I prefer to read at bedtime because the days can be hectic and busy. Thanks for the free box set!
ReplyDeleteYes I love reading
