A former
lawman who lost everything.
A woman
who can’t remember her past.
An
unexpected encounter that will put two strangers squarely in the crosshairs of
danger.
An explosive ending no one saw coming.
Hi everyone. Today is the release day for Shrouded Past – Book 5 of the Hope Island Securities series which is set in the fictional town of Hope Island, Maine. The series features a team of private investigators who have all felt the impact of danger in their lives. Each has gone through the fire and come out changed. Because they understand what it feels like to face down deadly men, the team members founded the business to help others going through the same thing.
Hope Island Securities Team motto is:
When you’re
all out of options.
When there’s
no place else to turn.
There’s
hope.
Shrouded Past is the first book in the series
that doesn’t feature one of the Hope Island Securities team members as a main
character. Shrouded Past introduces Bryce and Piper, two people whose lives
unexpectedly collide with danger when the past and all its secrets catch up
with them.
Here’s a
little about the book:
Former
Wyoming Sheriff Bryce Malone is determined to put as much space and as many
states between him and the tragedy that had taken away his life.
He’d gone
after international drug smugglers, and it had cost him dearly when his wife
was taken hostage and killed. The smugglers got away. He’d stopped nothing.
Bryce tossed
his badge on the mayor’s desk and left. He’s done with being the good guy and
doing the right thing.
After
renting a beachside cabin on Hope Island, Maine, Bryce comes across a
single-vehicle accident near his home late one night. The car is empty but
there is blood on the seats. Inside the trunk, a frightened woman is bound and
gagged.
Piper
Alexander was taken at gunpoint and forced into the trunk. And the worst part?
She has no idea why. If it hadn’t been for the accident and the man who saved
her, she’d be dead.
With Piper
refusing to go to the police, Bryce asks her to trust him. But he’ll need more
help than what he alone can provide to figure out who is coming after Piper. He
reaches out to his neighbor, and one of the owners of Hope Island Securities,
JT Wyatt.
Can Bryce
and the team unravel the truth behind Piper’s abduction before it’s too late?
Find out in this exciting installment of the Hope Island Securities series.
For a chance
to win a copy of Shrouded Past, tell me what’s your favorite setting location
for a suspense series? Do you prefer an island with its mysteries? The
mountains and their danger? A beach where things are far from tranquil? A big
city where secrets abound? Or someplace else?
Leave a
comment with your email address and I’ll announce the winner this Friday.
Until then,
happy reading dear friends.

I love ones with a mountain setting because it speaks of survival not just from a criminal chasing you but also having to survive nature which can be dangerous in and of itself. cherierj(at)yahoo(dot)com

ReplyDeleteMe, too.
DeleteThe mountains and the beach!
ReplyDeleteduellonlysisataoldotcom
Both are good choices.
DeleteI grew up in a big city with lots of crime. However, I was only an hour or so from the beach. Somehow, I am fearless at the beach. Now I live near the mountains there are so many places to hide there. I think the mountains win for a suspense story for me!
