Did you all have a good Christmas? For us, it passed far too quickly. We were up in Wisconsin visiting our son and his family for a week between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
As much as I loved every moment of being with them, I never quite caught up with decorating, baking, or Christmas cards once we got home.
The weather sweeping across the country threw us for a loop as well, with snow, 40-50 mph winds, and bitter windchills that kept relatives from traveling down for Christmas. We even ended up watching our Christmas Eve service online.
I love winter, but now I am looking forward to spring! How about you?
Did you make any resolutions for 2022? How did you fare with the ones you made last year?
I admit to being a habitual resolution failure. But here I am in 2023, once again optimistic about achieving my goals!
I am determined to continue downsizing and send even more to the local Olivet Mission and Salvation Army. We have no plans to move, but we've accumulated too much stuff! The book "The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning" has inspired me. Also, I plan to go to the YMCA at least once a week, and read through the entire Bible.
What are your resolutions for 2023?
If you are looking for something to read during these long, dark winter days, how about COLLATERAL DANGER? It's the third and final book in my Wyoming Danger series.
Anyone who leaves a comment will be entered in a drawing for a free e-book--any title in this series (or the previous Montana Secrets series) they'd like.
Best wishes to you all!

I’m doing the same thing. Including reading through the Bible.

Best wished with your goals!
DeleteGoing to try to catch up on all the books I keep getting but don't seem to find the time to read as there are a lot of new authors I want to try
ReplyDeleteA wonderful goal!
DeleteI'm reading through the Bible for the 18th time, this time using Seasons of Reflections to do it. There's a reading from the Old Testament, one from the New Testament and a proverb or psalm. Other than deadlines, that's about the only resolution I make. lol
ReplyDeleteI am looking for just such book. I looked up the title on Amazon. Is yours the 1994 or the 1996 version?

Yes! I need to make more time for reading, too!
DeleteI actually do have a resolution (maybe a challenge would be a better word for it - LOL). I am resolved to extend grace to myself in my own shortcomings as much as I extend grace to friends, family, and strangers. That sounds so backward, I know. But I've seen this in other women that I know, as well. We tend to be so hard on ourselves and unforgiving of our own failures and mistakes, right? So, as the Lord has given me the word GRACE for this year, I intend to be mindful of it with myself as much as with others.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful plan to use the word Grace. I can dwell endlessly on my shortcomings, and I think that's the focus I need as well!
DeleteI don't make resolutions because I never keep them. I want to try verse mapping and bought the journal for it. I haven't started mapping yet. I also hope to pursue more information on retirement.
ReplyDeleteWhat is verse mapping? I am intrigued!

ReplyDeleteI’m not a resolution maker. I do however recap my last year and look at potential opportunities regarding family, ministry, grands etc and pray about what God wants me to do. I’m not familiar with your books but look forward to trying them. Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteNo resolutions, just a plan for more connection with God and friends.
ReplyDeleteI made my reading goals. I am reading the Bible through, but it’s a 2 yr. program. Take a few more trips.
ReplyDeleteI don't make resolutions but am looking into either partial or full retirement soon.
