Hey, friends!

Thank you for joining me today at Suspense Sisters. I'll be giving away an ebook copy of Distress Signal, so hang out with me.

I’ve been writing for a few years and have written around forty novels. One thing I’ve learned is that not every book is for every reader. Everyone has different tastes in clothes, houses, cars, and food, so it makes sense that people have different tastes when it comes to reading materials. Readers aren’t going to love every book. That doesn’t mean that if a reader doesn't like a book, that the book is no good. It could simply mean that reader isn't the right audience for the author. It can take time for an author to find the right audience. In this market saturated with so many books, readers and authors can struggle to find each other. As I read the reviews for Distress Signal, though, I believe I’ve connected with the right audience!

Here are a few reviews . . .

DO NOT blink while reading this, the action picks up FAST and will keep you turning pages until the very end!!~Kara

This is one of those page turners that when you start you do not want to put it down. It will have you on the edge of your seat trying to read faster to see what is going to happen next. I caught myself holding my breath several times.~Elizabeth

The plot was filled with plenty of twists and heart-pounding action.~Deborah

A breathtaking, breath holding, fast paced, action story full of twists and turns and scary adventures.~Melissa

These reviews made my day!

Here's the blurb:

Perilous reunion at sea

A Coldwater Bay Intrigue story

When shipwreck archaeologist Cora Strand is attacked and the research boat she’s on explodes, her ex comes to her rescue. Years ago, Kirk Higgins forfeited her heart, and now with no memory of who attacked her, Cora must trust him with her life. But at the risk of blowing his cover, can the NCIS agent stop a killer determined to put them both in a watery grave?

Distress Signal is the third book in my Coldwater Bay Intrigue series set on Washington’s rocky coast. I love the Pacific northwest and I’ve written quite a few novels set in the region.

I loved “diving” into the research for this story about a shipwreck archaeologist. I learned that there are many facets to such a job. Cora’s specific task was to confirm and document sightings of shipwrecks. According to the stats, around three million shipwrecks are on the ocean floor and only a small portion of those have been discovered and documented. I found that so fascinating, and wish I could have spent more time on that topic—but with a Love Inspired Suspense novel, the action has to start quickly and the story starts with a bang. That's all I'm going to say.

I especially loved writing Kirk’s character. As an undercover NCIS agent he's on a race against time to unravel the mystery while protecting Cora.

You might have seen this picture on my Facebook page, but here it is again. I found Distress Signal at Walmart—so pick up a copy if you can! https://amzn.to/2Rv7JZB

Also, I want to let you know about my upcoming February release. Never Let Go (Revell/Baker Publishing Group) is my first trade-length novel and is the first book in the Uncommon Justice Series. I’ll talk more about this next month during my interview with Patricia Bradley.

But I wanted to give you a heads up that if you pre-order NEVER LET GO, then you can get some free swag from Revell!! http://ow.ly/6fzN30nh7DU

  12. I agree that not every book is to everyone’s liking. I try to read only books that I think I’ll enjoy and can give a four or five star rating to. Life is too short to get bogged down reading something that’s not enjoyable. That’s time you’ll never get back. I love suspense and yours sounds like my cup of coffee (I don’t drink tea, LOL). Thanks for the chance to win it.
