Interview with NY Times best selling author Lenora Worth--and a book give-away!

Roxanne Rustand here, and I am so excited to share this interview with New York Times bestselling author Lenora Worth! And don't forget--those who leave a comment will be in a drawing for her newest book!

Tell us a little about yourself and your newest book.

I write for Love Inspired, Love Inspired Suspense, and Tule Publishing. I also do a bit of Indie projects with the Rodeo Knight emblem that Lisa Mondello and Margaret Daley created. I've written close to eighty books. My latest release is Tracker, the last of a six-book continuity series with six different authors.

Give us an insight into your main character, and what inspired you to write this book?

The main character is Zeke Morrow, an driven FBI K9 Agent who is searching his half-brother who has gone rogue and joined up with some nasty people. I wanted to write this story because I was intrigued by the love-triangle of brother against brother, and the woman who inadvertently becomes involved with my hero. Also, she has a son to protect--from the bad guy brother who happens to be his father.

What are you working on at the moment?

I just finished another continuity story--a military K9 story that has been a challenge. I'm also working on a short romance for Tule and an Indie Christmas novella which will be part of a boxed set.

What is your writing schedule like?

Ha, crazy. I usually get going around noon and work until five or six in the evening. But I sit and stare out the window a lot and check e-mail and eat chocolate. Then I write fast and furious for a couple of hours and go through the whole process again. I like to write every day if possible. And I write more than one project at a time to keep me on my toes.

What led you to become a writer?

I was the baby of seven children, so I got ignored a lot in all the family drama. I had a vivid imagination and I had imaginary friends so I started making up stories in my head at an early age. Sold some on the playground for a quarter each and I was off and running.

What is the hardest thing about writing?

Wanting it to be the story I see in my head. It never turns out exactly the way I think and I always think I can do better.

What is the easiest thing about writing?

Falling for my characters and wanting so much to tell their stories.

Anything else you'd like to share? Anything humorous about your writing life?

The humor comes when people realize I write. They get all giddy and think I'm some kind of celebrity. But I tell them I'm nobody, really. Just a working writer doing a job that I love. I explain I write commercial fiction and it's sweet and fast-paced, with a faith element. I was once at a home on Thanksgiving, and when the host told her mother-in-law who I was, she grabbed my arm and said to everyone in the room, "I've read her books." It was funny because she was telling me she'd read my books but she kept saying "I've read her books!"

Lenora Worth writes romance and romantic suspense for Love Inspired and also writes for Tule Publishing. Three of her books

finaled in the ACFW Carol Awards and several of her books have been RT Reviewer’s Choice finalists. “Logan’s Child” won the 1998 Best Love Inspired for RT.

Her books have also made The NY Times, USA Today and Publishers Weekly bestseller lists. With over seventy books published and millions of books in print, she goes on adventures with her retired husband, Don. They have two grown children. Lenora enjoys reading, baking and shopping … especially shoe shopping.

  16. I envy you being able to work on 2 stories at the same time. If I did that, I'd have the wrong character in the wrong story. lol Enjoyed getting to know you better.
