Did you know.....?

1. The Arctic Tern prepares for winter by flying a whopping 11,000 miles each way on its annual migration route?

2. During the fall, more people change their Facebook status from single to "in a relationship" or "engaged" than in any other season?

3. Babies born in autumn are statistically more likely to live to 100 years old than their counterparts born during other seasons?

4.  Autumn is the time when monarch butterflies begin to migrate to Southern California and Mexico? They can fly 12-24 miles per hour.

  1. I want to add to your comment about Monarch butterflies. They migrate about 3,000 miles. Isn't that amazing?

  3. When the leaves turn colors in the fall, they actually are returning to their normal colors. During the summer months, the chlorophyll present in the leaves causes the leaves to turn green, blocking the leaves' actual colors.

  6. I was going to say that all the trees turn color in October. But, not so in Ohio right now. In our area (right now) they are all green and falling off the trees. This is usually our week week for color. Not sure if that's considered a fact or not.

  15. Interesting! I didn't know any of these and don't have any to add. I find the babies born in fall having higher rate of living interesting. I knew winter babies had the lowest chance.

I'd love to win this for the ladies in our church who pass around their books and love gentle reads.
