BOOK REVIEWS: JUSTICE BURIED BY PATRICIA BRADLEY AND SNIPER! BY LINDA J. WHITE

JUSTICE BURIED by Patricia Bradley
Memphis Cold Case Series

Synopsis:

In an effort to get her security consulting business off the ground, Kelsey Allen has been spending a lot of time up in the air, rappelling down buildings and climbing through windows to show business owners their vulnerabilities to thieves. When she is hired to pose as a conservator at the Pink Palace Museum in order to test their security weaknesses after some artifacts go missing, she's ecstatic. But when her investigative focus turns from theft to murder, Kelsey knows she's out of her league--and possibly in the cross hairs. When blast-from-the-past Detective Brad Hollister is called in to investigate, Kelsey may find that he's the biggest security threat yet . . . to her heart.

My Review:

Kelsey Allen is attempting to get her security consulting business “off the ground,” by sending herself “off the ground.” Rappelling up the sides of multi-story buildings and breaking into to businesses to prove they’re not completely secure, can lead to unwanted side effects. Like seeing someone being murdered and becoming a target for a killer.

Kelsey, who is also known as the Phantom Hawk, becomes entangled in a mystery that will lead back to a father who disappeared years earlier, under a cloud of suspicion. As she searches for the truth and fights to stay alive, her growing feelings for Detective Brad Hollister only add to the complications that surround her.

This was my first Patricia Bradley book, but it won’t be my last. Bradley develops her characters brilliantly and keeps the plot moving along seamlessly.

If you enjoy romantic suspense, you will love JUSTICE BURIED. I highly recommend it!

SNIPER! By Linda J. White
A Sequel to Seeds of Evidence

Synopsis:

Shocked by the murder of a friend, FBI Special Agent Kit McGovern vows to bring the killer to justice. Then the shooter kills again, and again … and again.

Saddled with an unpredictable partner, forced to put her personal life on hold, Kit doggedly pursues the sniper. Quantico sends a geographic profiler to help identify him, but the killing of a young woman outside the probability zone casts doubt on that technique. As panic grips the Hampton Roads area, pressure mounts, and Kit soon finds herself in the crosshairs of failure—and death.

My Review:

FBI Special Agent Kit McGovern is standing on the steps of a courthouse with her friend, Gail Massey, an assistant U. S. attorney, when a shot rings out and Gail falls. After Gail’s death, Kit begins to search for the killer. Is he linked to the case she and Gail worked on together? When more shootings occur, it appears they are dealing with a serial killer – a sniper who is taking out people randomly, making to almost impossible to find him and stop him before more people die.

David O'Connor, a former homicide detective and Kit’s fiancĂ©e, is asked to join Kit in finding the man who has terrorized citizens in coastal Virginia. The pressure of the case seems to drive a wedge between them, and David becomes afraid that he will lose the love of his life in one way or another. He fights to save their relationship while praying that this investigation won’t end in Kit’s death.

Linda J. White writes with a realism that comes not only from great research and stellar resources, her husband actually made training films for the FBI for twenty-seven years. Combine her impressive knowledge with great writing, and you have an engrossing novel that pulls you in and doesn’t let go.

SNIPER is a “don’t miss” book. I highly recommend it!
