Lost in La La Land!

At any given moment, I am likely to be lost. Whether driving, walking or strolling through the mall, I am, no exaggeration, perpetually lost. I have been known to call my husband and say, "Where am I?" It's legendary in my family. How could I possibly spend most of my time lost? I think it has to do with being a committed daydreamer. My mind is inevitably somewhere far away from the here and now. This morning on a drive to San Jose, I was busily trying to figure out how to hide a baby. Not a real baby, mind you, I'm not prone to swiping people's infants, but a situation in book three of the series I'm currently writing for Love Inspired Suspense. During staff meetings, my brain may be in a completely different time zone. It's both an advantage and a detriment. I am never bored, you see, but on the flip side, I may have not heard all of the little items were are meant to check off on our inventory list as described in above staff meeting. Sigh. I spent many a walk with my dog imagining the siege on the hospital that occured in Dangerous Testimony. We walked a lot farther than I'd intended, on that little journey. In spite of the disadvantages, daydreaming is the cure for boredom, that's for sure.

So what do you do when you're bored? Giving away a Starbucks card to one commenter.

  2. I don't think I'm ever really bored. I'm a SAHM who writes the majority of our curriculum for homeschooling, and so I've always got a stack of school books to read, besides my own towering stacks that I read for fun, and I'm always planning book club events for my kids and their friends, history projects, etc. There are SO MANY fun things to think about!

  3. I'm never bored! There is too much to do in life! I have too many projects I could be doing! I love to read, scrapbook, send notes to people, do genealogy, and a 100 other things! For me, I'd rather have MORE time in the day!

  4. HAha! I love this. This is me a lot of times. I don't find myself bored because I am always daydreaming! Sadly, though, I find myself getting a stern look from my hubby who has just told me something and he knows I didn't hear it. ;) I also find it is getting much worse as I grow older!!! Although, I do know I had a hard time not doing it in school - major day dreaming possibilities there. If I find time on my hands then I make sure to pick up a book and read. That always fixes any down time.

  7. I used to get in trouble for daydreaming in school!! I think that was the one time I was most often bored... guess that's what happens when a school just can't challenge you enough... Now if I get too bored I like to read or Crochet!!!

  13. My mind tends to wander if I'm bored, lol! It thinks about some strange things sometimes, but nothing like how to swipe a baby like in your latest book, Dana! Which, by the way, was a great conclusion to the series :-)

I'm also a directionally challenged person, terribly so! Thank goodness my husband is spot on with directions and draws me accurately detailed maps of places I need to go if I'm unfamiliar. Or I have a trusty GPS that has never let me down :-)
Thanks for the Starbucks card giveaway, coffee is always a good thing!
