Let's find out about you, dear reader! A little fun and a giveaway!
More Information about Dana's newest release
Well hello, suspense lovers! Dana Mentink here and I'd like to share a bit about my latest release, Abducted. I thought it would be cool to do a kind of 'reader survey' format so we can find out more about your experiences, too. In order to make it extra fun, I'm giving away a print copy (U.S. only) or a digital copy of Abducted. Post a comment to be entered! Ready? Here goes.
1. Abducted takes place largely on a fictional island set here in California's Channel Islands. Have you ever visited an island? Which one?
2. Heroine and missionary nurse Sarah Gallagher speaks both Spanish and English. Do you speak more than one language?
3. Hero Dominic Jett is disillusioned since the loss of his Navy career. He works as a dive master on a boat in Tijuana. Have you ever been scuba diving or snorkeling? Did you enjoy the experience?
4. Abducted is the third book in the Pacific Coast Investigation series featuring the four Gallagher sisters. So you prefer to read series books or standalones?
5. Sarah has three sisters with whom she is very close. Do you have a sibling you are very close to?
Thanks for sharing a little about your life! Here's a link if you want to subscribe my You Tube channel where I talk a bit about my books and do a monthly prize giveaway. Thanks for hanging out with me today!

I have visited a lot of islands along The Great Barrier Reef.
ReplyDeleteI only speak English.
I tried snorkeling once. I couldn't get the hang of it and swallowed too much water to make it fun.
I like both series & stand alone reads.
I have 5 sisters and a brother. I would have to say we would all be close.
marypres(AT)gmail(DOT)com
Five sisters! You have me beat. I have three!
DeleteI have visited Boldt Castle in the Thousand Islands
ReplyDeleteEnglish and French
Never been diving but I would love to some day.

When I was a kid my parents had a small boat and we would go to Georges Island off the coast of Massachusetts. I took spanish in high school and was pretty good at it but after so many years I can only speak english. I was never the adventure type so snorkling was out of the question. I love books no matter stand alone or series. I have 7 siblings and since mom passed away in 91 we all sort off gone our own way. Mom was the glue to keep us together.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this chance
mcaquinn@aol.com
Moms are so often the glue, aren't they? The Georges Island sounds lovely.
Delete1....Dominican republic
ReplyDelete2...Spanish
3 ....never
4....both
5.....one sister

ReplyDelete2. I really only speak English but I know a little sign language from my sister but not enough to carry on a conversation like her. :)
3. No, again unfortunately I haven't been either but would love to.
4. I love to read series b/c you get to connect more with the people and usually even in the next ones we get a brief glimpse of them again to know how their life is progressing. Standalone books end to quick when you are just getting to know and love the characters.
5. I have a brother and we used to be closer but when he got married it changed. When it is just me and him though again, it is just like old times.
I have been to many many islands, but my favorite is probably Victoria Island in Canada.
ReplyDeleteI only speak English
I have not been snorkeling or scuba diving.
I like both standalone and series. I'm an equal opportunity reader.
I have one brother and we are fairly close.

4. I like books in a series, and I also like stand-alone books.
5. The brother I was closest to in age passed away first, but I was closest to my older sister until she passed away. Now my remaining brother and I telephone often, and pray for each other more often.

DeleteHi! I am ready:

2. Yes, if I can count sign language.
3.No, since I am not sure how my ears would take these fun adventures. They can hardly stand plane trips.
4. I enjoy both, but standalones are easier since it is hard to wait for the next book in the series to be published!
5. I am kind of close to siblings, for being in all different states.
Janice

I would love to know sign language!
DeleteI've been to several islands - Vancouver Island, BC, Puerto Rico, Hawaii.
ReplyDeleteNo, I learned German in high school, but have not used it for many years.
No, thought I might like to try snorkeling.
I enjoy both, but it is sometimes easier to read standalones, because you don't have to try to figure out the connection between characters if you don't start the series at the beginning.
Two sisters, not really close -- they are close in age and I'm the big sister.
betsylu2@msn.com
I see your point about the standalones, Beth.

5. My little sister and I were very close as small children...then we grew apart during our teens. Now that we are both wives, moms and grandmothers, we are close again.

ReplyDeleteCool to speak a little Dutch!
DeleteThanks for the giveaway opportunity, Dana! And congrats on the new release! To answer question number 4, I enjoy reading series, so long as each book is a story in itself that resolves with that book. I'm not a fan of the series that keep the story ongoing in each installment and don't have resolved endings.
ReplyDeleteYep, we need that closure for sure!
DeleteOh, and my email for the giveaway is jerusha(at)JerushaAgen(dot)com. Thanks!
