Summer reading survey...and a two book prize!

As a teacher...summers are especially precious, so I allow myself to become a book glutton. My goal is to stuff myself with as many great reads as I possibly can before we report back to the classroom in August.  I tend to like many genres but suspense/thriller/mystery is my fave. All right! Let’s find out what YOU, my darling blog readers, prefer in your novels.

Comment with your picks  and speak your mind. I'll draw a winner next week to receive my TWO newest releases, Seaside Secrets and Sit, Stay, Love!

Do you prefer...
1. Either EBOOKS or PRINT BOOKS?
2. Either UNKNOWN VILLIANS that aren’t revealed until the end, or UP FRONT VILLIANS who are up close and personal from the get go?
3.  Either MILITARY/COP protagonists or the EVERYMAN type hero?
4.  Either SMALL TOWN SETTINGS or URBAN SETTINGS?

Book #2 in the Pacific Coast Investigations Series available now!

    4. Either SMALL TOWN SETTINGS or URBAN SETTINGS? Small... no Urban... Okay I'll go with Urban

  4. Let's see....
    1. Print books are the best! The feel, smell and look of them...awww!
    2. I prefer villians that are up front...I like to know which characters to hate from the get-go.
    3. I like both military/cop and everyman type heroes...so no clear choice there.
    4. Small town settings...or better yet, out on the open sea! It's a pirate's life fer me!

  6. 1.i prefer print, but as long as I can read the book either one is fine.
    2. Unknown villain so I can try to figure out who it is. It makes the story more intriguing and the characters more interesting .
    3. Everyman. I think there is a hero in all of us. It's nice to read about a man you wouldn't think of as a hero.
    4. Small town settings.
    Thanks

  8. Dana, entering me for the books wouldn't be fair, but my choices are:
    1. Print books (unless the e-books are on sale)
    2. Unknown villain, every time
    3. Hero, but not in uniform--Jack Reacher comes to mind
    4. Setting doesn't matter, so long as I can identify with it.

    Thanks for asking.

  9. I like print books and the everyday hero! I don't own an ereader.

  10. E-book or print: either, when I travel e-books are easy to pack and don't weigh much, at home it's nice to hold a book.
Villains: I like a mix of both
Military/cop or everyman hero: I like both, much depends on the story
Small town or urban: mostly small town (more interesting characters to get to know)

  11. 1. Either EBOOKS or PRINT BOOKS?

    2. Either UNKNOWN VILLIANS that aren’t revealed until the end, or UP FRONT VILLIANS who are up close and personal from the get go?

    3. Either MILITARY/COP protagonists or the EVERYMAN type hero?
everyman ... seems like military/cop are overdone.
    4. Either SMALL TOWN SETTINGS or URBAN SETTINGS?
    small town

  12. I'm afraid I won't be much help answering your survey since I don't have a real strong preference in any of the categories! If I HAD to make one definitive choice though, it would be print over ebooks, but I do enjoy reading on my Kindle & Kobo. ;) Thanks! rw620 AT aol DOT com

  15. 1. I prefer print books--the smell, holding them. I will read ebooks though.

    2. The Unknown Villian so I can figure out who it is as I'm reading.

    3. Everyman a hero as ordinary individuals are hero, too

    4. Small town settings primarily since I'm from a rural area. I have enjoyed books I've read with the setting in urban areas though.

I love your books, Dana. God bless.

  20. Good questions!
    1. I like print books, but do a lot of traveling over the summer (I also work in education). So, I use ebooks while away from home.
    2. I enjoy trying to solve the mystery myself, so I tend to prefer the unknown villain.
    3. I enjoy both. No strong preference either way.
    4. I really like small town settings.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  24. 1. I enjoy aspects of both, e-books are easier to travel with but I tend to flip back in forth and reread passages more in a print version. Plus I can loan the print books easier to friends.
    2. I will say the unknown villain, I enjoy trying to figure it out on my own.
    3. I enjoy either, but to answer the question I will say the military/cop
    4. again I enjoy both setting, It really depends on the plot of the story, but to choose one I will say small town.

  29. Hi Dana!
    1. I prefer print books! I love to hold a real book in my hands! Ereaders are heavy and hard to hold!
    2. I love unknown villains! I like to wonder and guess who did it and see if I am right or not!
    3. I prefer Everyman type hero
    4. I like books about small towns! Maybe because I live in a small town!

  30. 1. Print books - my eyes get so tired from electronics all the time.
    2. Unknown villains - there is something real fun about dying to figure out who the villain really is - even if my guess is sometimes wrong...lol
    3. I enjoy both heroes but if I must make a choice, I will go with an Everyman hero. I think those who serve are heroes anyway.
    4. I like the small town idea, since people living in a small town usually know or at least know something about everyone.
    Thanks for the giveaway :)

    2. Either UNKNOWN VILLIANS that aren’t revealed until the end, or UP FRONT VILLIANS who are up close and personal from the get go? I like both. Unknown can be scary good though.

    3. Either MILITARY/COP protagonists or the EVERYMAN type hero? Both - but I do love it when the man on the street steps up.

    4. Either SMALL TOWN SETTINGS or URBAN SETTINGS? Both again, but small town settings can be magic.
